BAS Staff

Peter Lezin

       Peter is the president of Brandon All Stars and has coached at Brandon since 1997. Peter completed his 14th year as a head instructor for the National Cheerleaders Association where he trains coaches on proper progressions and safety techniques. Peter was also on the Collegiate Staff for NCA and is a judge. Peter is a former cheerleader at The University of South Florida and is a former coach at USF. Peter has also competed for the Brandon all stars adult open team. Peter is credentialed up to level 5 in Stunts, tumbling, and basket tosses and will be coaching Sr Platinum, Sr Black and the International Open team.

Joslynne Harrod

 Joslynne has over a decade of competitive coaching experience and is in her 6th season with Brandon All-Stars. Joslynne's teams have consistently been nationally ranked and her credits include coaching the 2009 Cheerleading Worlds Gold Medal Champions as well as the 2010 Cheerleading Worlds Silver Medal Champions. She is USASF credentialed up to Level 5. She is a former Florida State University cheerleader and was named a high school and collegiate All-American. Joslynne was also a 4-year head instructor for NCA. Joslynne graduated from FSU with a Masters degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. For the 2010-2011 season Joslynne will be coaching Senior Black (Small Senior Limited Coed Level 5) and Junior Silver (Small Junior Level 4). When she is not at the gym, she enjoys spending time with her husband Clem and her son CJ.

Shea Crawford

 Shea is currently in his 5th season coaching at Brandon All-Stars and his 2nd season as Tumbling Director. Shea began cheering at Snead State Community College where his team won the Junior College Division at UCA in 2001. His coaching career began at Alabama Cheerleading Center in 1998 where his teams attained multiple state and national titles. He is also the former assistant coach for Hawaii Pacific University from 2004-2006 where both large and small coed teams won NCA Collegiate National Championships. Shea graduated from HPU with his B.A. in Public Relations. Shea is credentialed through level 5 in tumbling and will be coaching Senior White and Junior Silver.

Sandy Veley Clarke

Sandy is in her fifth season at Brandon All Stars and she is from Gainesville, Fl. Sandy is our director of flexibility and conditioning and is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in exercise science. In her years at USF she cheered for the All Girl and the coed team and spent the summers working for the Universal Cheerleaders Association teaching safety and proper techniques to teams around the country where she was a head instructor for 5 years. Sandy was a coach at Chamberlain High School for 5 seasons and will be coaching Senior level 4 and Senior white this season.

Sarah Heikkinen

This is Sarah's second season working as the Brandon All-Stars office manager. Sarah grew up in Panama City, FL and moved to Tampa to attend the University of South Florida. She will be graduating in August from USF with a bachelors degree in accounting and will be continuing on at USF to pursue her masters in accounting.  When she is not working or studying, Sarah enjoys playing tennis and going to the beach.

Leighton Clarke

Leighton is from the island of Jamaica and comes to us by way of Coconut Creek, FL. and is in his fourth season at Brandon All Stars. In college he cheered at The University of South Florida and then transferred to the University of Kentucky. He returned back to the tampa area and was the coach of nationally ranked University of South Florida All Girl team. Leighton was also named Hillborough County coach of the year in 2008 and 2010 while coaching Chamberlain High School. Leighton is currently the coach at Bartow High School and is going on his 13th summer as a UCA head instructor where he teaches safety and proper techniques to kids around the country and works with numerous college teams. He mixes music and is a master choreographer for the Varsity Brands. Leighton will be coaching our junior level three team and our senior level four team.

Jillian Hendersen

Jillian is in her third year coaching at Brandon. In her first two years she coached our mini level one team that ranked high consistently throughout the season and had their best season ever at Brandon in 2009- 2010. This year she will be coaching our youth level two team. She was born and raised in Tampa, FL. where she was a former high school and All star cheerleader who moved on and graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Elementary education. She currently is a third grade teacher at Pride Elementary. Jillian was born on November 2nd, and is the younger half of the only sister combo we have on staff. Joslynne is her older sister who caches Junior Silver and Senior Black.

Lacie Lawhorne

Lacie has been involved in all star cheerleading for 12 years and she is currently a head instructor for National Cheerleaders Association where she travels in the summer teaching camps on safety and proper progressions.. Lacie is currently a dancer at Busch Gardens and she attends Southwest Florida College for interior design. She will be coaching our Tiny team and Senior Chrome in her third season at Brandon and is looking forward to a sucessful season

Joe Mortensen

Joe is in his second season at Brandon All Stars. He started cheering in 2002 and worked hard enough to make it at the collegiate level at The University of South Florida. He spent two years cheering for the Bulls at USF and then transferred over to the University of Central Florida. He is proud to be a member of the 2007 Division 1A UCA College National Champion team. During his time at USF and UCF he spent his summers staffing for the Universal Cheerleaders Association teaching camps on safety and technique. He has also been a member of the Brandon All Stars Open team since 2004. Joe will be coaching our Senior level three team again this season.

Tara

Tara will be in her second year at Brandon All Stars. Tara coached our mini level one team in 2009- 2010 to their best season ever at Brandon. Tara was a high school cheerleader in Tampa, Fl. where she was an All American and she also was an all star cheerleader. Tara then moved to Key West fl. where she started to coach All Stars and is now back in Tampa where she is studying to be a Veterinary Technician. Tara was also an instructor for National Cheerleaders Association where she spent the summers teaching camps on safety and proper techniques. Tara will be coaching our youth level one team and our Senior 4.2 teams as well.

Erica Travieso

This will be Erica’s first year at Brandon All Stars. Erica comes to us from New Jersey by way of Star Athletics where she won numerous State Titles. In addition to those state titles her teams were fortunate enough to come away with NCA All Star Nationals Championship Jackets as well as UCA All Star National Jackets. Erica will be coaching our Youth level one team.

Tori Davis

Tori comes to us from Jacksonville, Fl. where she was a 4 time high school All American. She cheered for four years at the University of North Florida where she was a collegiate All American as well. During her summers in college Tori fine tuned her teaching abilities by working for CTC and the IOCC (which is now WCA) teaching camps on safety and choreography. Tori was able to keep her skills up by competing with several adult open teams including Brandon All Stars Open. Tori will be coaching our Sr Open and our Junior level three teams this year.

Stephanie Powell

Stephanie is in her second season at Brandon. She has been a competitor for eleven years at all levels of All Star cheer with her last four years being on Senior Black where she won a gold and silver medal. Stephanie is currently a member of the National Cheerleaders Association where she teaches camps on safety and proper progressions. She is currently attending Hillsborough Community College and will be transferring to the University of South Florida to study to become a physical therapist. This year Stephanie will be coaching our youth level one team.

Kyle Armstrong

Kyle was born in Houston, TX. on January 7th, and has 10 years of cheerleading experience. He has cheered four of those years on Senior Black where he won the first world champion title for Brandon All Stars. Kyle is also a three time Cheersport National Champion. Kyle will be attending Hillsborough Community College and will be coaching our Junior level four team.

Brandi Hotchkiss

This is Brandi's second year coaching at Brandon. Brandi will be coaching Junior Maroon this season. Brandi was previously a member of both Senior Black and Senior White here at Brandon All-Stars.  She is now a current member of the University of South Florida's All-Girl cheerleading team.

Jeff Chambless

Jeff is in his fifth season with the Brandon All Stars. He is a former local high school cheerleader. He is currently a competitor for the Brandon open team. Jeff is credentialed up to level 5 in tumbling.

Tyera Rodriguez

Although this is Tyera's first year coaching at Brandon All-Stars, she has been a competitive cheerleader at the gym for over six years.  She has been a member of the World Championship winning team, Brandon Senior Black, since 2005 and was also the recipient of the Brandon All-Stars distinguished cheerleader scholarship in 2010.  Tyera is from Tampa Florida and was born on September 13th. Her favorite food is pizza. Tyera will be coaching the Tiny team this year.
